The kids had a great Christmas. Georgia asked for and got from Santa Woody and Jessie. Jude got the car game he asked Santa for. They got tons of other stuff from grandparents. Even Alex got a bunch of stuff!

Also, if you haven't ever had one, you must try a pumelo. Awesome!! It's our Christmas tradition

Happy Birthday Jesus!

We had a great Christmas morning and rest of the day. The kids got up at their normal time (7) and had a blast opening their gifts. Pictures to follow.

Last night, The Gathering had an awesome Christmas Eve service. I was so proud of our kids. It was their first performance. Ok, so they didn't exactly SING, but they sure looked cute up there singing "Away in a Manger". When given the option to stay for the 6:00 service, they both said "No".

We took a ride home to look at Christmas lights and then got them ready for bed. It really helps to have Santa on your side sometimes! They went right to sleep....

Gingerbread Boys

Steve's Grandmother always made gingerbread cookies for everyone in her family, mailing them out so that they would have them by Christmas day. After she passed away about 10 years ago, Steve started doing it in her honor.

It has been a fun tradition to keep on and the kids are starting to really get it. I didn't participate as much this year, but the kids picked up the slack and the cookies are mailed. We're not sure if they'll make it by Christmas, but I'm sure everyone will forgive us.

Jude Turns Three!

We had a nice little party for Jude's birthday. We just had cake and ice cream, let the kids play, opened presents and attacked a pinata!

It's hard to believe the little boy is 3 already. We are so thankful that God gave us such a fun, passionate son.

Pops and Grandmom Visit

My mom and dad were here this past week. We had a great time visiting with them. They gave Jude his birthday present-a cool tricycle. He's still a little small to reach the pedals, buy he likes it anyway.

We finally got our tree yesterday and it's my favorite yet. Georgia and Jude LOVED decorating it. We just have Jude's birthday to celebrate next Sunday. He'll be 3!!!

Last weekend we also had a nice visit with Papaw and Ma Johnnie (Steve's dad and stepmom).

Oops!

So now I'll tag 3 people although I don't know who reads this blog!

Chelsea, Cathy and Rachel, you're it!

Virtual Tag

My 2nd cousin, Jenna, tagged me to name 5 interesting facts about myself. Hmmmm....

1. I am totally in love with our cat. I used to hate cats and I'm allergic to them. Except for Alex.

2. I also have a pile of scarves, having just learned to knit in the last month. I love it! I would much rather do hats now, they're more fun. Who knew I was crafty!?

3. My dad is a funeral director and I'm quite at ease around dead bodies!

4. I've lived in the Nashville area for over 12 years now and I hope I never have to leave. Great town.

5. I'm married to my complete opposite. I love him even though we clash on a lot of subjects! Our common denominator is Jesus :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Steve decided very last minute that we should drive to see my parents. It was very fun and exciting and short. The kids did GREAT on the drive. Unfortunately, Jude was pretty sick the entire time and Georgia started running a fever the night before we left. Jude is still recovering and looks like a little hobo with a very sore, chapped face from wiping his nose on his sleeve. Georgia is doing much better.

We let the kids open the birthday presents from my mom and dad while we were there. They also got to decorate the tree for Christmas.

Thanks mom and dad for a great, spur of the moment family Thanksgiving. We will see you next week in Tennessee!

Thanks honey for making this Thanksgiving fun and spontaneous.

P.S. We did the 15 hour with no DVD player! Woo hoooooo! We like to do things the old-fashioned way...oh yeah and we don't have one.
