FO

Those aren't naughty initials! That stands for "finished object" in knit/crochet world.

This is Georgia's finally finished afghan. Jude's is in the works.

Country Music Marathon

I'm so proud of Steve! He completed his first marathon (and he says his last!) yesterday with a time of 4:08. Pretty darn good for a 39 year old man.

His cousin, KC, came up from Texas to run it for the 2nd time. Steve's best friend, Mike Gillespie and his wife Amy, also ran. Amy ran the half marathon.

I'm proud of everyone...especially Steve who is walking kinda funny today but says he'll run mid-week! He inspires me. I love you honey!

Jude ran into our fence while riding his bike. I couldn't even tell where he had hurt himself until later that night when it started appearing on his nose. Now it's at the gross scab phase!

Georgia's afghan is basically done. I have 8 more squares to sew on, but I've kind of lost my enthusiasm....too bad I have started Jude's. I have 3 squares done, about 50 more to go! Woo hoo.

Casting Crowns with Georgia

Steve had gotten tickets to the Nashville Casting Crowns concert. I tried every babysitter I could think of and couldn't find anyone to watch the kids. He really wanted me to go. I'm not that familiar with their music, but enjoy what I hear on the radio.

I decided to take Georgia. Now I know I have the most remarkable 4 year old child ever but.....don't take a 4 year old to a show that lasts way past bedtime. She complained a lot, but hung in there between "Mama, I REALLY, REALLY want to go sleep in my bed" and "Can we leave now Mama?". Finally fell asleep after the intermission and I carried her out to the car.

Did I mention we were in Section 1 about 15 rows from the stage? It was cool. Leeland opened for them and they were great also.

Casting Crowns all have real jobs as youth workers/church workers and I'm so impressed with their concert. They really led you to worship the Lord, not just be entertained.

They had an AMAZING artist on tour with them. You have to check out Mark Eckel. And here

You won't regret it!

By the way, Daddy and Jude had boys' night out complete with car races and pizza. Jude loved it!

Be sure to watch both videos!

Our dear friends Cathy, Theo and Josie were visiting with us this past week. The kids had lots of fun playing together and hanging out. We also celebrated Josie's 3rd birthday with all of her Tennessee friends.

I had to get a picture of Cathy holding Bertie the snake for the first time! She was holding him so lovingly it cracked me up.

And lastly, Georgia is SO ready for her blanket to be finished. I have about 30 squares sewed together. It's going really quickly, thank goodness! I'm happy with it and it's so cheery-looking. She modeled it on Alley Cat and he seemed indifferent, as only a cat can.

Horses Horses Horses

Georgia really loves horses. She prays every single day for a white horse, a black horse and baby horses.

Thanks to Grandmother (who is a horse lover and owner herself), Georgia has gotten some really cute toy horses lately.

I'm still working on the granny squares for Georgia's afghan. I'm addicted to it! I have almost 60 squares and I guess I'll make it bigger while I'm at it. I have to learn to sew them together with the "whip stitch"!

Weekend Fun

Grandpa Finn and Grandmother came for a visit on Thursday. They brought all kinds of cool toys for the kids.

We had a horse themed birthday party yesterday for a little friend. The kids had fun stuffing their own animal (like Build a Bear).

The weather is gorgeous today. We went to the park and came home and played with the neighbor boys...all 5 of them!
