Sweet And Sassy!

Georgia got her first haircut at Sweet and Sassy, a local kids' salon with all kinds of fun stuff. She didn't want to go at first, but we went with Riley and now she wants to go "all the time".

She ended it with sparkle hairspray and a star on her cheek. Miss Inez was really sweet and did a great job. Georgia sat like a champ and my little girl looks so grown up!

A Glimpse Of The Future?

This is Georgia in my wedding dress. I told her she could try it on. It was tricky since there aren't any sleeves.

Jude loves to slick his hair with water and this isn't a great picture, but you get the idea.

Ready For School

Georgia won't go to Kindergarten til next Fall, but she finally wrote her name this morning. Her promised reward was a stuffed horse she had been eying at The Factory's toy store. Praise the Lord, it was half off!

She is quite proud of herself and so am I!

PS Blogger has turned my picture and I don't know why....

A Rip Off From Rach

I decided to do what Rach did and post a picture of myself as a little girl and see if you think she looks like me. Thank God my kids are cuter than I was! :)And with better hair.....

Happy 4th and Happy Anniversary

Sunday is our 6th anniversary...so Happy Anniversary to us!

Jude and Georgia loved the sparklers Steve got for them. Georgia was terrified at first, but loved it when she got going. We walked down to Franklin for the fireworks, but by the time we got there (9:30) Jude was out and did NOT want to be awakened. I love living in town!

PS I hardly ever cook, but I made the best burgers yesterday and Steve grilled them on our charcoal grill. (I'm not a burger person). It's out of Taste Of Home's Healthy Cooking mag June/July 2008:

Turkey Burgers with Avocado Sauce (I didn't even make the sauce)
1 cup fresh or frozen corn thawed
1/2 cup chopped red onion
1 small sweet red pepper chopped (I left out)
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced (I left out)
2 tsp olive oil
2 TBSP lime juice (used lemon because I had it)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/8 tsp oregano
1 lb turkey

Sauce:
1 med ripe avocado, peeled
1/2 cup fat-free sour cream
2 TBSP minced fresh cilantro
2 tsp lime juice
1 garlic clove minced
1/8 tsp salt

Serving:
4 whole wheat hamburger buns

Shredded lettuce, mexican cheese, tomato and onion optional

1. In a large skillet, saute the corn, onion and peppers in oil until crisp-tender. Stir in the lime jiuce, garlic, salt, cumin, chili powder and oregano; cook 1 minute longer. Transfer to a large bowl and cool slightly. Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well. Shape into 4 burgers (they're huge,so you could make smaller ones). Refrigerate for at least 30 min.

2. For sauce, in a small bowl, mash avocado with sour cream, cilantro, lime juice, garlic and salt. Refrigerate until serving.

3. If grilling burgers, grill covered over medium heat or broil 4 inches from the heat for 5-7 min each side.

4. Place on buns, top with 1/2 cup sauce. Serve with fixings if desired.

In case you care: 1 burger without the sauce has 413 calories, 13 g fat, 50 mg cholesterol, 678 mg sodium

BFFs

Oh my goodness, could this picture be any cuter? Gracie and Georgia decided to match up this afternoon while playing at our house. FYI: Georgia has this dress in 4(!) colors....
