These pictures crack me up and I didn't even know he took them....

The other one is from when Steve got home from Florida on Monday night. The kids really missed him this time.
He recorded two Casting Crowns concerts for their live DVD. He was pretty impressed with the band. He said the lead singer was really nice.

Selfish Post

So this one is all about me and how I'm totally addicted to knitting and now (gasp) crocheting! One of the girls in my Sunday School class suggested that I give it up for lent :)

Steve got me the coveted Denise Needle Kit for Valentine's Day. I am so happy! I love using the circular needles for everything now.

I'm into washcloths and they are so easy and fun. I just finished the double cherry one today in about 2 hours. I'm bummed about the big yellow one. It's supposed to be a flower garden....Hmmmm. I followed it correctly and even used the needle size I was supposed to.

My first crocheted washcloth is pretty wonky, but I plan to get better as I go. I'm keeping it for myself anyway. Since I'm a girl with no dishwasher besides me, it's perfect!

Here is the patter for double cherries and springing up flowers

Here is a picture of my lovely mother-in-law with her hat. I made the same hat for Rachel.

The moral of this story is: if you know me, you're likely to get some knit or crocheted gift...or many of them.

Girls' Weekend!!

All 7 of us were together again. Kim, Karin, Tammy, Bethany and I drove up to Winona Lake, IN to see our good friend Cathy. We picked up Rachel who flew in from Philly to Indianapolis. It was so much fun. One of the highlights of the trip for me was all 7 of us going to "Fiesta Hair" to get our hair cut! (Karin didn't get a cut) I was a little scared and just got more layers and about 4 inches cut off the back. As you can see, there were some cute sassy do's!

It was so much fun to see Grace College and all the beautiful new buildings. Winona Lake was kind of a dump when I was in college (20 years ago!), but it is a beautiful lake town now with lots of gorgeous homes and buildings. We had snow and cold weather, but it was great.

Our husbands graciously kept the kids for us and mine had big fun. They went to Chattanooga and rode the incline and went to the aquarium.

We miss Cathy already and she is coming down with Josie and Theo to see us in March. Now we just have to get Rach to come....

I haven't taken many pictures this week, but I thought I would mention that Steve is training for the Music City Marathon in April. He was run 16 miles at once so far. He has toenails falling off (a lovely side effect of marathon training) and sore muscles! I'm proud of him. In the process, he has lost about 20 pounds and is thinner than on our wedding day! Wish I could say the same...

Here are pictures of the kids from one year ago. They've grown!

Man, we miss Cathy, Theo and Josie!
